Contemporary Shed Style

Edina, MN | 2022

This new house was designed for a pair of empty nesters looking to downsize and simplify how they lived. The house took its design cues from various styles, with the result being a contemporary take on Shed Style architecture. The house was sited in order to take advantage of views of a pond in the rear yard, and anchor the cul-de-sac in which it is located. Features of the house include a vaulted front entry with a floating staircase, a Rumford style wood burning fireplace complete with a guillotine door/screen, and a lap pool.
