scandinavian modern
Edina, MN | 2020
This new house was designed for a pair of empty nesters looking to downsize and simplify how they lived. The house’s style was inspired by Scandinavian architecture and ski lodges. The house was carefully sited on a semi-wooded suburban lot in order to preserve as many mature trees as possible. Features of the house include a 20’ tall vaulted living and dining room, large expanses of glass, a custom wood burning fireplace, and a lap pool. The house was featured on the 2020 Parade of Homes, and was awarded 1st Place in the 2021 Midwest Home Design Awards in the “Contemporary Architecture up to 4,000 sq ft” and “New Model Home” categories.
